Shirt: H&M, TT: AA, Pants: Can’t remember, Bag: H&M, Boots: Blackstone

I just love those new pair of boots, when I first saw them I instantly fell in love with them. You can’t see them very well  but in my next post I’ll show a picture up close. I’ll be wearing them to a job interview I have tomorrow morning. I’m so nervous!

De Nederlandsche Mode

December 17, 2009

It was only recently that I realised that I absolutely love dutch fashion. The Netherlands aren’t that big in the whole fashion area just yet, but we’re making progress. Big progress, if I say so myself, since Amsterdam International Fashion Week made its debut in 2004.

I havent been that active the last two weeks but next year you can expect posts about dutch fashion, general fashion and more amazing stuff.

Have an amazing christmas and an amazing new year. (oh gosh, it sounds so cheesy.)

A must-have item this fall is the biker jacket. And I picked my favorites with a little explanation why I choose that particular jacket. You can click on the pictures to see them in full size.

Picture: This is my absolute favorite. But it’s really the overall outfit that does it for me. The model plus the jewelry makes it look so chic. The jacket is from Blumarine.

And then there’s this amazing biker jacket by Diesel. The gradient effect in the shape of smoky swirls plus the black and gray in the jacket make it look so mysterious.

This jacket from Julien Macdonald has an military edge to it, yet it still manages to stay chic. The things on the shoulders are kind of abstract which is why really love this jacket. The shape of the jacket  itself is so minimalistic but the ‘spikes’ on the shoulders gives the garment that extra boost. You shouldn’t wear this jacket when your broad-shouldered though. But I think that speaks for itself.

This vintage jacket from the 80’s was on the website of Nasty Gal. The oversized tuxedo lapels look amazing in combination with the black leather and the gold buttons.

You can buy this jacket for 248 dollars on nasty gal.

When Autumn comes

November 26, 2009

Their ready-to-wear collection for Autumn 2009 isn’t that new at all but since it’s freezing right now I decided to do a post about this season’s clothing. And since there’s still 50 percent of Dutch blood flowing trough my veins I thought it should be about Viktor & Rolf. In their ready-to- wear collection for the Fall 2009 have those neutral colors that can be seen on almost every runway this season. But we’re still talking about Viktor & Rolf and who are they when they don’t add a little crazy touch to them. I see alot of geometric shapes that come in small details but also draped garments and neutrals (as I’ve said before in this post). Personally I think the main focus in these garments is in the overall shape of them. The details look magnificent, big bold and beautiful mixed with minimalism. The Greek sculptures that were on the runway kind of showed were they got their inspiration from.
